Comfortable

The first thing you notice about Donna Daniels is her sweet smile and gentle, soft-spoken nature.

When she moved to Eagan from Minneapolis, she started looking for a church closer to her new home. She was a bit nervous about finding a new place that would feel as comfortable as her old church. She wanted the familiarity of a traditional Lutheran worship style. She also wanted opportunities for learning and growing in her faith in a relaxed, informal setting. She saw our signs, heard a recommendation from a friend who had visited Easter Church, and decided to give us a try.

She attended the traditional service at the Hill site and enjoyed the liturgy and hymns. She participated in the Women on Wednesday Bible study. She felt very comfortable just sitting quietly and listening to others share Bible truths and life stories of how God is growing faith here, connecting and unifying us. “I love just soaking it in and learning.”

Those comfortable feelings stick with her during the week, affirming that she is welcomed and accepted here. She is grateful for being drawn into our community and feels a nudge to volunteer to be a greeter, allowing her to offer that acceptance and welcome to other visitors.

Donna is grateful for Easter members who introduced themselves to her and for invitations to attend Bible study groups. She is happy getting comfortable in her new church home.
