Worship : BREATHE: A Sermon-Series led by Pastor Kris

Easter by the Lake

Take a breath.  Now breathe out.  You’ve just experienced the presence of God.  Seriously, have you ever thought about how God is working in your life TODAY?  The Bible tells us a lot about what happened in Bible times – but what does it have to say about God working in OUR lives – right here, right now?

When Jesus left the earth, he sent the Holy Spirit to be with us in all things at all times. This Holy Spirit is God’s presence with us – right here, right now! The first three Sundays in May, Pastor Kris will explore how the Holy Spirit is at work - TODAY.  In a sermon series titled, “BREATHE” – we will walk through the scriptures and explore who the Holy Spirit is in our lives and how we can recognize its presence.  Come!  It’ll be fun!

May 4 – BREATHE LIFE!
The Holy Spirit brings life to all creation!  In fact, in the Nicene Creed we confess together, “I believe in the HOLY SPIRIT, the Lord, the giver of LIFE.”  How does this work?  Where do we find it in scripture?  We’ll explore these and other questions about the life-giving power of the Holy Spirit.

May 11 – BREATHE God’s PRESENCE
The Holy Spirit is the sign of God’s presence in our lives.  How do we know it’s there?  How do we recognize it?  Pastor Kris will interview Dr. Richard Jensen about an experience he had with God’s presence in his life.  You don’t want to miss this one!

May 18 – BREATHE TOGETHER
You’ve probably heard about the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.  This week we will talk about what those gifts are, how to recognize them and how to use them to build up the Body of Christ.
