“A Christian small group is an intentional, face to face gathering of three to twelve people on a regular time schedule with a common purpose of discovering and growing the possibilities of the abundant life in Christ” --Roberta HestenesWhat is a small group? A small group, typically under 12 people, gathers for a specified reason (bible study, hobby, service, life stage support, etc). Whatever the purpose for forming, inherently there’s also the intention of creating significant community – the intentional deepening of relationship among the people in the group. There is also a commitment/covenant to stay together for a period of time (of the group’s choosing), after which the group can decide they’ve completed the purpose for which they gathered, or they can choose to stay together. Typically, groups that bond well choose to continue, even if for a different purpose. If you have an idea for a new one call Mary Kay Du Chene at 651-452-3580.
